I am the way and truth and life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. – John 14: 6-7
I hope you are finding comfort in returning to the Father’s embrace! For many, though, this might have been a more difficult challenge. How come? A while back we addressed two of the questions God asked Adam. I’d like to return for just a moment.
Over the years of counseling, I’ve learned many people believe God is distant, angry, rejecting, not powerful, non-existent, etc. Perhaps these are some of the lies you’ve believed. Just as God asked Adam, “Who told you that…” God is distant, angry, ________________________ (fill in the blank)?” How do you get past these lies and discover the truth? May I invite you to come to know Jesus?!
Jesus told his disciples, “if you really knew me, you would know my Father.” This is true for us today. Over the coming days and weeks, we will be diving into just a few of the virtues of Jesus. We will attempt to explain them, provide evidence of them in Jesus’ life, and then offer a challenge for you. Our hope is, as you follow and apply this process, you will come to know more of Jesus and find a deeper understanding with the Father.
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for providing the way. May my heart be opened to discover the truth and to experience the life you have promised. Father, may I come to know you more intimately!
